Bison Braids
Teams of three to lovingly come and assist in the homes of those dealing with the effects of brain injury.
Support Services for Survivors and Families
Hiring three people to visit shut-ins and disabled people twice a month for 2 hours, significantly and without drugs, reducing their anxiety and loneliness, lightening their darkness and restoring HOPE, by:
1) handling incoming mail, organizing & filing paperwork, facilitating bill-paying.
2) cleaning & organizing their living space, restoring their dignity, bringing nutritious meals for their fridge & freezer.
3) Interacting with them personally, making eye contact, looking at photo albums of family, playing games of a non- video nature, befriending them.
We estimate the cost per needy person to be $1,000 for 3 months. That’s two 2-hour visits a month by three trained people performing separate roles, roles that typically fall to a family member or friend. And often doesn’t get done at all.
To care in this way for one person on our Bison Neediest Cases list will cost just $4,000 a year ($1000 X four 3-month periods).
